A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with an alleged domestic incident after a man was found with injuries to his head and to a hand.
Police were called to an address on Derby Row in Newton-le-Willows in the early hours of Saturday (October 17) after being alterted to reports of windows smashing.
Residents reported seeing officers and a cordon in place in the area during the course of Saturday morning.
A 32-year-old man was found with injuries to his head and to a hand, while a woman was found with what police called minor injuries.
Both were taken to hospital and later discharged.
The woman, aged 36 and from Newton-le-Willows, was arrested in connection with the incident and later bailed.

A Merseyside Police spokesman: "We were called to Derby Row at 3am to a report of windows smashing.
"Officers attended and a man aged 32 was located with injuries to his hand and head, and a 36-year-old woman was found to have minor injuries.
"Both were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
"The woman, a 36-year-old from Newton-le-Willows, was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and has been released on conditional bail.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
