WARRINGTON Foodbank has opened its new outlet at Golden Square and the drop-off point has already been well supported by shoppers.
Items can be dropped off at the new site near Primark and visitors can also get Citizens Advice Bureau advice on the likes of universal credit and debt issues.
David McDonald, manager of Warrington Foodbank, said: “We’ve been blown away by the incredible generosity we have received from Golden Square shoppers. It has given us a huge boost to our current supplies so thank you to everyone who has taken the time to drop off much-needed produce.
“The opportunity to have such a prominent spot in the centre will definitely help us increase our donations and raise awareness in the town of who we are and what we do. We are a lifeline for many, and the generosity of others really does go a long way in combating hunger and poverty in Warrington."
Ian Cox, Golden Square director, added: “It was really positive to see so many of our visitors already getting behind this worthy cause.
"Pressure on charities such as this is huge, now more than ever, and its vital that we rally to help where we can.
"As a hub of the community it’s our duty to support the Warrington Foodbank and assist them in increasing much-needed donations, especially as we head into the winter months.”
