OFFICERS were called to Latchford Locks yesterday morning after a member of the public reported seeing a body in the Manchester Ship Canal.
Cheshire Police attended the area shortly after 7.30am on Sunday, October 18, following the report from a concerned resident.
But ‘no trace of anything suspicious’ was found during a search of the area.
A force spokesman said: “At 7.40am on October 18, officers were called by a concerned member of the public who reported that they believed they had seen a body in the Manchester Ship Canal.
“Officers attended and conducted a search of the area and there was no trace of anything suspicious.”
