A WOMAN was taken to hospital for checks after being being involved in a crash.

Two vehicles were involved in a collision at the junction of Jubits Lane and Gartons Lane in Sutton Manor on Sunday morning, October 18.

Emergency services were called to the scene after the crash involving a Volkswagen Passat at around 11am.

A woman, who was still inside one of the cars, was given oxygen and first aid therapy by fire and rescue officers, until paramedics arrived.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of a collision at 11.05 am on Sunday, October 18 to Jubits Lane at its junction with Gartons Lane in Sutton Manor.

"It was reported a blue VW Passat and a blue Fiat Punto had been in collision.

"One woman was taken to hospital to be checked over and later discharged."

A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman added: "Crews were alerted at 11.05am and on scene at 11.13am. Two fire engines attended.

"On arrival crews found two vehicles had been involved in a collision.

"One person was still inside one of the vehicles when crews arrived. Firefighters administered first aid and oxygen therapy until the arrival of North West Ambulance Service.

"The person was then helped out of the vehicle by paramedics and further assessed at the scene.

"Fire crews left the scene at 12pm."
