AN £11million apartments development is nearing completion.

Anywl Partnerships is set to handover its ‘flagship extra care development’ on Harpers Road in Longbarn to Torus housing group.

The £11.3million Harpers Green scheme has seen 97 one and two-bedroom flats for the over 55s constructed on the site of the former Bayleaf Indian restaurant, which was destroyed by an arson attack in 2017.

Facilities across the four storey, 10,000sq m site include a ‘central feature’ courtyard, a bistro, a salon and access to the neighbouring Longbarn Bowling Green.

Tom Anwyl, managing director of Anwyl Partnerships, said: “Working on schemes in different boroughs means that different restrictions apply, as such we are monitoring any change on a site by site basis.

“We are committed to keeping all sites open and support our supply chain by ensuring we operate a full workforce, with many of our own team members currently working from home.

“The upcoming handover of Harpers Green following lockdown and the restrictions surrounding the pandemic is testament to the strength and resilience shown by the team.

“We are steadfast in our approach and continue to make progress on each of our sites, coupled with a number of exciting new developments in the pipeline which will start to take shape this side of Christmas.

“Whilst these are undoubtedly difficult times, we believe that it’s important to continue our operations and embrace the new normal, having adapted many of processes to ensure we can continue to do so in line with government advice.”
