HAVE you ever dreamed about winning big on the lottery?
For some people from Warrington this dream became a reality, thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Some people from the town and nearby areas have scooped thousands- all thanks to their lucky postcode.
Here is everything you need to know about the People’s Postcode Lottery- including which Warrington postcodes scooped the biggest wins.
What is the People’s Postcode Lottery?
People's Postcode Lottery is not like the ordinary lottery.
It is a subscription-based lottery where people sign up with their postcodes for £10 a month.
If a winning postcode is drawn, every subscriber in that postcode wins a cash prize.
Players are automatically entered into ever draw and prizes are announced every day of the month- sometimes they are as little as £10, other times you could win thousands.
Every Saturday and Sunday, winning postcodes are announced where players each win £30,000.
Once a month, players in one postcode will share an incredible £3 million between them.
Best of all, 32% of the ticket price goes to various charities.
The biggest People’s Postcode Lottery winners since 2015
In Warrington and the areas surrounding the town in the WA postcode, there have been seven big wins since 2014.
Here are all of the winning postcodes:

In 2014, ticket holders in this postcode won a share of £2 million.
Some people scooped £400, but other people won much more when the full postcode (WA13PE) was announced.

Five other people on the street also secured the £200,000 prize.

Way back in 2016, two Appleton residents scooped £25,000 each in the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Kate Price, from Dudlow Green Road, said she was “shocked” when she heard the news.
She said: “I was so shocked when I realised I had won. £25,000 is absolutely amazing and I'm just thrilled.
"I'm going to do lots of home refurbishments and get the drive done so it couldn't have come at a better time!
"I won with a neighbour so we're both going to take some of our other neighbours out for a big celebration, so happy days!"
WA4 3AJ
This Appleton postcode won the People’s Postcode Lottery last year and Bridge Lane residents scooped £30,000 each.
Hayley Dervin was just one of ten winners; she became emotional when the Postcode Lottery team delivered the news.
She said: "As a mum of three and with one son at university, I can’t explain the difference that this will make.
"I have family in Australia that I have never even met before and my mum hasn’t seen for years.
"It’s always been my dream to be able to go over and take my mum with me, but we never really thought it would be possible until now."
WA16 0RZ
This year, three people from High Legh won £30,000 each.
The People's Postcode Lottery team announced the good news to the winners over video chat
Sam Cotton said: “My wife Amber and I have a four-year-old son, Harry, and we’ve a little girl on the way who is due in December, so this has really helped.
“We’re renting and squirrelling away money for a house deposit when we can, and then this comes along.
“It’s a hell of a lot of money and has sped up the process no end. We can get a nice new family home now.”
WA12 9YP
In February of this year, five Newton-le-Willows neighbours won a combined total of £150K- or £30,000 each.
One winner was Susan Sherratt who had only been living on the postcode for a year.
She said: "It's a tenner a month which you don't really notice, it's the same as buying a couple cups of coffee but instead the money goes to support charities.
"That's why I play, so I didn't expect to be winning myself! I'll be able to make my new house a home a lot quicker and get it decorated throughout.
"I've also got two nephews that live with their families in Canada that I can now go and see which I wouldn't have been able to do before."
WA16 6JN
This postcode is just thirty minutes away from Warrington in Mobberley, Knutsford.
They won £50,000 earlier this year but decided to remain anonymous.
£1000 winners from Warrington
While it might not be the biggest cash prize up for grabs, plenty of Warrington postcodes have scooped the £1000 prize in 2020 alone.
Five Paddington residents won £1000 each in June when WA1 3HJ was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery.
WA8 3JA also proved to be a lucky postcode, when Moorfield Road neighbours bagged the money.
Old Hall residents won a combined total of £19,000 after the WA5 8QJ postcode was announced in March.
