CHESHIRE East and Cheshire West have both seen a huge drop in the number of positive coronavirus cases over the latest 24 hour period.
It comes as a clear contrast to the previous 24 hours, which saw a worrying spike of 328 cases across the two boroughs.
Now, a total of 55 Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the 24 hours leading up to 9am on Friday, October 9.
Cheshire West's number of 47 new postive tests sees the figure from yesterday more than half, with Thursday's new cases totaling 104.
It now takes the total across the borough to 3,421 since the start of the pandemic.
Meanwhile in Cheshire East, yesterday's huge spike of 224 new cases has fallen down to just eight in today's figures.
That takes the total across the borough to 3,707 since the start of the pandemic.
Both Cheshire East and West were added to the Government’s watchlist as ‘areas of concern’ last week.
