A CHESHIRE Police officer has been suspended from his duties after being charged with criminal offences.
Police constable Alan Friday, a member of the force’s dog handling unit, faces allegations of harassment in the Merseyside area.
The 41-year-old, from Liverpool, has been charged with this offence and will appear before Wigan Magistrates Court in December.
He has been released on conditional bail until this date.
Cheshire Police has confirmed that PC Friday has been ‘suspended from his role due to an ongoing case’.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that a Halewood man has been charged with harassment as part of an ongoing investigation.
“41-year-old Alan Friday, of Yew Tree Road, was charged in June this year.
“He is on conditional bail to next appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court on Friday, December 4.”
