PARR Hall is marking its 125th anniversary this weekend.

The celebration itself is somewhat muted because the Palmyra Square venue is still under lockdown due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

But concert goers have been sharing their memories and we have been looking back through historical records at the hall's first performance and early years.

Below, with the help of Culture Warrington, we have also dug out some Warrington Co-op Operatic Society photos – some of which are more than 70 years old – which offer a glimpse of what Parr Hall and life on stage was like in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
