A NEW interactive map has been developed which shows how many cases of coronavirus there are currently in your area.

It has been designed so that local authorities can see which areas are seeing spikes in cases and can then take action if necessary.

The cases are shown per ‘middle layer super output area’, which is a system used by the Office for National Statistics and is slightly larger than a postcode area.

Data used in the map covers a seven-day period, is updated regularly and has been sourced from Public Health England based on pillars one and two of the Government's testing programme.

At the time of writing, the map displayed the number of cases confirmed between August 31 to and September 6.

According to the data, the area of Warrington with the most confirmed cases was Hood Manor and Sankey Bridges, which was reported that 13 people had contracted Covid-19.

This was followed by Blackbrook (10), Central Warrington (9), Culcheth West and Croft (7) and Fairfield and Howley (7).
