A FORMER Post Office in Woolston is set to be turned into a tattoo studio.

Warrington Borough Council has granted planning permission for Level Up Tattoo to move from its current base on Dam Lane to the new site on Holes Lane.

The unit, at the junction with Manchester Road, was previously used as a post office for around 30 years before closing in December last year.

Consent was granted on Friday, August 28, despite a handful of objections from residents.

As previously reported by the Warrington, the shops on Dam Lane have been ‘plagued’ by anti-social behaviour recently.

Level Up Tattoo cited this as the reason for the move.

Submission documents stated: “Since we opened in 2019 we have embedded ourselves in the community – sponsoring local rugby players, hosting fundraisers and growing a lovely client base.

“Unfortunately, the site at Dam Lane is plagued with anti-social behaviour issues.

“I myself having been the victim of verbal abuse and I do not feel comfortable continuing to trade at the site.

“The unit at Holes Lane has been closed since December, and we are looking to give it a new lease of life.

“We are excited to be able to keep Level Up Tattoo in the Woolston area and remain part of the local community.”
