THINK the problems of traffic at Bridge Foot are a new thing?
Well think again.
This week in Yester Years, we are going back to the 1950s for this remarkable picture of the old bridge across the Mersey.
This picture is before work was started to put in place the current gyratory roundabout which takes drivers across the river.
And as you can see, it is wall to wall traffic, reminiscent of today.
The current roundabout was suggested as a way of stopping the jams.
Work is currently under way to provide another solution to the problem.
The Centre Park link road between Slutchers Lane and Chester Road is designed to not only open land for development but act as a bypass for some drivers trying to get from the north of town to the south.
It is due to open next spring with construction currently well under way.
