POLICE have released CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with a burglary and assault.

On Monday, June 22 at around 2.20am, police were called to College Street, Leigh following a report of a burglary and assault.

Enquiries have since established that two men had entered the property and shot at residents with a BB gun.

Leigh Journal:

One person received minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

The offenders left empty handed.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Bell of GMP'S Wigan District said: "One person was left with minor injuries to the face as a result of this incident and we’re doing everything we can to trace those responsible.

“We have released images of two men we’d like to speak to as part of our enquiries so I would urge them or anyone who recognises them to get in touch.

Leigh Journal:

“I would also ask anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident to contact police.”
