GREAT-grandparents to 29 are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary today, Thursday.
Brenda and Bernard Hampson, 78 and 81, have enjoyed a happy 60 years of marriage after meeting each other as teenagers.
They first met at Chadwick's paper mill in 1958 when Brenda was 15 and Bernard was 18.
Two years later they tied the knot at Christ Church, Padgate, on August 13, 1960.
The couple, from Howley, have since had eight children, and also fostered a number of others throughout the years.
Daughter Gaynor Fairhurst recalled: "We grew up on Manchester Road and mum and dad fostered throughout our childhood - we constantly woke up with a new member being brought in during the night!"
They now also have 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
