A NEW community noticeboard has been erected for Stretton Parish Council thanks to Barratt Homes.

The housebuilder, which is currently building in the area at its Kings Quarter development on Parkstone Drive, has replaced the damaged noticeboard on Pewterspear Green Road as part of its Barratt Legacy Scheme.

The initiative seeks to donate to organisations and charities within Barratt Homes Manchester’s operational areas to help improve communities.

A spokesperson from Stretton Parish Council, said: "We were very pleased to have our application for a new noticeboard approved by the Barratt Legacy Scheme.

"It’s a great idea to have something beneficial to the residents of Stretton which helps to further integrate Barratt Homes into the community."

The new noticeboard will help advertise parish council information, as well as news about support groups, events and activities available to all residents.

"It is very important for rural villages to have noticeboards situated locally, as we have a diverse community and not everyone has internet access," the spokesperson continued.

"We would like to say a big thank you to Barratt Homes for the kind donation in helping Stretton keep residents informed of parish council work.

"It is very important for everyone, be it companies, organisations or individuals to invest in order to create a supportive and positive community."

Michaela Lancaster, sales director at Barratt Homes Manchester, added: "It’s always a privilege to work closely with communities to enable us to make a positive contribution in the long term.

"Our nearby development, Saviours Place, is now sold out, so it’s fantastic that we could leave a lasting legacy in Warrington."

Barratt Legacy was set up by Barratt Manchester to support and enhance the communities in which it builds homes.
