A COUPLE of weeks ago in Yester Years we showed you a great picture of Warrington Festival.
Well readers have been sending in their own pictures of the event.
It started in the 1970s and ran until the 1980s.
It began with the idea of helping the residents of the new town feeling part of the borough.
We love this picture of a float that came complete with a model of the fish market on Winwick Street close to the Hop Pole.
The parade was popular with crowds but there was concerns raised in some quarters that it would affect the popularity of Warrington Walking Day.
Readers also remember buses advertising the festival travelling through town.
- Do you remember the old Warrington Festival?
