THE latest figures revealed by Public Health England show there has been one coronavirus death reported at a Cheshire hospital in the past 24 hours.

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust reported a patient had died of Covid-19, bringing the county hospitals' death toll to 723.

The last death at the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust occurred on July 18, which was announced by the trust two days later. A total of 227 people with coronavirus have died in the trust's hospitals.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 213 coronavirus deaths, East Cheshire NHS Trust 146, and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 137.

As of 10.39pm on Tuesday, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Cheshire West and Chester stood at 2,054.

It was reported at the end of last week the rate at which coronavirus cases were being recorded had risen slightly in west Cheshire.

Across England, a further 13 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died in the latest 24-hour recording period, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,371.

Patients were aged between 52 and 92 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.
