TWO childhood friends have finally been able to open their own gym after months of delays due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jacob Williamson and Connor Anderton, both aged 27, used to joke about running their own gym while at high school.

Now that joke has become a reality, with the opening of their Eden Gym in Woolston on Saturday, July 25.

Warrington Guardian:

The Tatton Court site had almost been ready to welcome customers when the Covid-19 lockdown first hit in March.

But months later, and with restrictions lifted, the hard work is finally paying off.

Jacob said: “Myself and Connor have been friends since we were 12 years old and joked about opening a gym when we were in high school.

“After running a successful meal prep company, we decided to finally open our own gym and really target an area of the fitness industry that appeals to us.

“We are creating a community-based gym that is approachable for people of any fitness level, stripping away the intimidating stigma that can be associated with getting started at the gym.

Warrington Guardian:

“We have overcome personal and business hurdles over the past 13 months and couldn’t be more proud of the gym.

“Connor got engaged to his fiancée, and I now have a four-month-old baby.

“All of that in the past year, as well as a global pandemic to battle with.

“2020 may have been a write off for some, but it’s been life-changing for us.”

Eden Gym offers a range of memberships, with benefits such as unlimited group sessions and one-to-one personal training.

Jacob added: “Our kit is the best you can buy and we are committed to keeping our gym quiet, with just 100 members for the foreseeable future.

“We have basically created our personal ideal gym based on more than 10 years of experience.”
