A WOMAN was injured after being attacked by a ‘dangerously out of control’ dog in Great Sankey.
She was walking her dog on Pyecroft Road shortly before 6.30pm on Wednesday, July 22, when she was bitten by the Alsatian.
Her dog was also attacked, with both suffering minor injuries during the incident.
Police were called to the scene and restrained the dog before locating its owner, and officers’ enquiries are ongoing.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At around 6.20pm on Wednesday, July 22, police were called to reports that a woman had been attacked by a dog on Pyecroft Road.
“Officers swiftly attended the scene and found that a woman and her dog had been bitten by an Alsatian type dog – the woman and the dog sustained minor injuries.
“The Alsatian dog involved in the incident has been secured.”
