TWO museums in Northwich will reopen from lockdown over the next two weeks with stringent coronavirus safety measures in place.

Lion Salt Works will open its doors on Tuesday, July 28, followed by Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse on Tuesday, August 4.

Advance booking is required to guarantee entry with visitor numbers and opening times limited, while one-way systems and floor markings will help maintain social distancing.

Hand sanitiser will be available and face coverings will be encouraged, and to support NHS Track and Trace all visitors will be asked for their contact details.

Cllr Louise Gittins, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “Our priority in reopening is to ensure the safety of all staff and visitors. We are rigorously following standards and guidance issued by Public Health and the Government.

“However, we need to be careful and cautious in our approach to reopening facilities, Coronavirus hasn’t gone away.
