THE most dangerous roads around Knutsford, Wilmslow and Holmes Chapel have been revealed in an interactive online map.

Created by two road safety experts, CrashMap highlights the location of every collision on the roads in a given period.

The detailed tool shows you not only the severity of the crash – slight marked in amber, serious in red or fatal in black – but also when it took place, the number of vehicles involved and the number of casualties reported.

The data used is taken directly from official government statistics, which is based on records submitted to them by the police.

Hovering the map over Knutsford, the website shows that crashes were most common along major routes through town and on the key roads out of it.

It shows that around 70 incidents took place between 2015 and 2019 on the roads around the centre of Knutsford.

The map also shows how Cheshire’s rural areas are less likely to see car accidents, while perhaps unsurprisingly, the M6 shows several accidents have taken place.
