FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a section of hedge well alight near Chester.
At about 4.50pm yesterday (Sunday, July 5) a crew responded to reports of a fire in Green Lane, Saughall.
On arrival the crew discovered a hedge measuring about 10 square feet well alight.
A large tree stump was also involved in the fire, which stemmed from a bonfire.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
They then damped the hedge and the tree stump down to make them safe, monitoring temperatures with a thermal imaging camera.
Firefighters were in attendance for about 45 minutes.
