A TEENAGER has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm after a serious assault in a park.

Cheshire Police received reports of an altercation on Bennetts Recreation Ground in Padgate at around 10.15pm on Wednesday, June 24.

Officers attended the scene and found that a 20-year-old woman had suffered an injury to her mouth.

It is believed that she lost her front four teeth during the attack.

Yesterday, Monday, a 17-year-old girl from Warrington was arrested in connection with the incident.

And she has since been charged with GBH.

The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear before Warrington Magistrates Court later today.

It comes after a dispersal order was put in place on Bennetts Rec in order to combat ongoing anti-social behaviour in the park.

Warrington Guardian:

This gives police powers to instruct any person over the age of 10 involved in crime or disorder to leave the area for up to 48 hours.

If they refuse or return, they can be arrested – with the order in place until 5pm today, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, thousands of pounds have been donated to an online crowdfunding page in support of the victim.

These donations will fund her costly dental work, which is expected to cost around £6,000.

Her friends Charlotte Powner and Chloe Belton set up the fundraiser in order to help the young woman ‘get her smile back’.

Charlotte said: “To our amazement, we managed to achieve the goal of £4,000 in less than 11 hours and we’re now well into £5,000.

“We couldn't be more grateful to everyone who has donated.”
