RHOS-on-Sea residents are being urged to be vigilant of potential scammers in the area.
North Wales Police has received reports of two men claiming to be from a window fitting company visiting a number of properties on Monday, June 29.
They managed to ask one elderly resident for payment to be made up front using a card machine, however thankfully, the bank raised suspicion and put a stop to the transaction.
A spokesperson for the force's West Conwy Coastal team said: "They are believed to be travelling in a blue coloured Range Rover. One male is wearing a suit and speaks with a Manchester accent and the other male has blonde hair.
"Our enquiries are underway however if anybody has seen these males, or who has information that could assist our investigation, they're asked to contact PC 3448 Erin Davies at Colwyn Bay Police Station on 101 or via the live web chat quoting reference number Y092889.
"We're asking everybody to be vigilant and to please keep a close eye on any elderly or vulnerable neighbours."
