A PAEDOPHILE who groomed a teenage girl has been spared jail after he was hauled before the courts again.

Shawn Chance, from Padgate, was handed two years behind bars in 2015 for sexually abusing the teen.

In February last year, the 27-year-old was found to have breached a notification order imposed following this conviction after he failed to register an alias he was using with the authorities.

But he failed to attend unpaid work sessions he was handed by magistrates for this breach in February and March this year.

Chance, of Biggin Court, admitted failing to comply with a community order at Warrington Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 16.

He was given a 12-week imprisonment suspended for 12 months and told to serve an eight-week electronically monitored curfew from 6pm to 6am.

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian after the paedophile was jailed at Chester Crown Court four-and-a-half years ago, the victim’s mum said that her daughter’s ‘innocence had been stolen’.

Chance, then of Poplars Avenue in Orford, had earlier admitted offences including meeting a child after grooming, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and possession of indecent images.
