WARRINGTON Wolves star Tom Lineham is recovering from his injuries after he accidentally set himself on fire.
Firefighters were called to the Wire winger’s home after a petrol can ‘exploded’ in his hand.
His partner Vicky Braithwaite revealed the scare over social media on Saturday.
In a post on Instagram, she said: “Cannot believe I have just witnessed a petrol can explode in Tom’s hand and set him on fire.”
Lineham is understood to be ‘fine’ following the freak accident.
It was the 27-year-old’s second misfortune within months, having contracted coronavirus earlier during the lockdown.
The England Knights international said he felt like he had been ‘hit by a bus’ by Covid-19, which he believes he caught from his girlfriend – a worker at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan.
