WARRINGTON Wolves young gun Riley Dean is to run 48 kilometres in 48 hours for charity.

He will join Wigan's Morgan Smithies and Amir Bourouh, his former junior teammates at Siddal ARLFC in West Yorkshire, in tackling the challenge for The Nick Smith Foundation.

The challenge is in memory of one of the Halifax amateur club’s leading all-time players, Nick ‘Smudger’ Smith, who died in December 2017 from Motor Neurone Disease at the age of 38.

Stand-off Dean, 18, and the 19-year-old Wigan pair, who also played together for England Youth, each aim to run 24km on both Monday and Tuesday and will split the distance into three or four runs on both days.

The runs will take place in full compliance with all social distancing guidelines and government rules.
