WARRINGTON'S popular Makers Market is to return on Sunday – with new safety measures in place.

Traders will be in Queen's Gardens from 11am until 4pm, after the government agreed for outdoor markets to return last week.

New guidelines and safety measures have been introduced.

This includes less traders and introducing more space between stalls in the Palmyra Square venue.

The layout will also give more space for queues and a one way system will be introduced.

Signs and barrier tape will ensure this is clearly marked.

A screen barrier will be in place between stall holders and the public and disinfectant spray will be available with hand sanitiser and washing stations available.

Where possible, stall holders will have card machines for payment.

Street food can be pre-ordered but seating will not be provided and organisers say dwelling will be 'discouraged'.

A spokesman said: "All stall holders must complete a covid 19 risk assessment and have it available to produce at the event, stored on email is satisfactory.

"On behalf of the stall holders we are absolutely delighted to be back and able to showcase again in Warrington."
