RESCUE dogs have enjoyed tasty treats during lockdown thanks to staff at Wilko Warrington.
Team members at the Golden Square store donated the treats to Manchester and Cheshire Dogs' Home, which is need of additional supplies while it is closed to the public.
Since lockdown began, the home has had to pause its usual adoption programmes and close its doors to the public, meaning its four-legged residents are not finding new homes, and friends of the charity cannot drop in donations as they normally do.
Upon hearing the news, Wilko Warrington decided to donate enough treats and other essentials to ensure the home’s dogs can stay happy and healthy.
This bumper supply of products was safely delivered while respecting social distancing.
Jerome Saint-Marc, Wilko CEO, said: "We know that this crisis is hitting charities and causes hard, and hope this gesture by our animal-loving Warrington store team will go some way to help Manchester and Cheshire Dogs' Home continue its amazing work in caring for dogs who are in need of love and care.
"We’re incredibly proud of and thankful to our team members across the entire business who have done a phenomenal job in ensuring hardworking families have access to the products they need and we appreciate the extra mile they’re going here to support causes and communities throughout the UK."
