A FORMER Ysgol John Bright pupil will test his mettle by running 96 miles in 48 hours to help secure PPE for NHS staff.
Ross Roberts and his Nottinghamshire friend Danny Conway, 25 and 24, will take on the gruelling challenge at their base in Abingdon, Oxfordshire on behalf of NHS Charities Together.
The Lance Corporals, who are currently serving in the Royal Logistics Corp, will aim to complete four miles every two hours from 8am on Saturday, June 13.

LCpl Roberts said: "The NHS has always been great, but since the Covid-19 virus they have proven how amazing they really are.
"I wanted to give something back.
"It will possibly be the hardest thing we’ve done as we will get hardly any sleep, as well as trying to get in the stretching, food and rest - the longer it takes us, the less rest we’ll be getting each time."
"All donations will be given to the NHS at the end of the 48 hours. We will post our runs every time we do them. I hope you will all help us raise money for such a valuable cause."
