THE countdown of sports editor Mike Parsons' 10 favourite moments from past Magic Weekend events reached number four.

today should have been day two of this year's event at St James’ Park in Newcastle but Super League remains postponed since mid-March due to the coronavirus lockdown in the UK.

Check back here tomorrow for the start of the top three memories.

Number 4: Morley the marauder

Skipper Adrian Morley’s 28-metre try in the last minute at the Etihad Stadium in 2013 capped a wonderful 48-22 Wire win against the old enemy St Helens.

Warrington Guardian:

He got on the end of a break inside his own half by Micky Higham, wrong-footed young stand-off Nathan Ashe and reached the line before an attempted tackle by Mark Percival, who got swallowed up in the subsequent impressive pile-on by Moz’s teammates.

Over the years, tales of that day have brought descriptions of a 40, 50 and 60-yard try by Morley, possibly started by the great three-times Challenge Cup-winning captain himself!
