The aftermath of the fire at Elegante Pizzeria in Thelwall
A TAKEAWAY was damaged by fire in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters were called to Elegante Pizzeria in Thelwall shortly before 4.30am today, Friday.
The blaze saw a flat above the eatery on Barley Road evacuated, with two fire engines attending the scene.
Crews ‘quickly brought the fire under control’ and remained in the area for around two hours.
No parties were injured, and investigations into the cause of the fire are now underway – although it is thought to have been started by a discarded cigarette.
