THE force’s most cuddly officer was on hand for a very special mission.

North Wales Police’s PC Ted made Ysgol Gogarth pupil Oliver Perry’s eight birthday very special when he turned up for a surprise visit at his Conwy home.

Were it not for lock down, Oliver - who lives with cerebal palsy - would have celebrated his big day with his family and school friends. So his family contacted North Wales Police who sent PC Ted with arms full of balloons, cards, badges and a cake.

“He was absolutely amazed,” said his mum, Liz Perry.

“The officers made such an effort. It was such a nice treat for him. They were all fantastic and we can’t thank them enough.”

Sgt Kim Owen, who was responsible for organising the surprise said: “It was a pleasure to do this special visit. The family appeared to be really happy at us visiting while little Oliver didn’t stop smiling the whole time we were there.”

"We just tried to make it a little special in these circumstances.”
