A LITTLE boy incredibly close to his grandad has found a unique way of 'being with him' during the coronavirus lockdown.

Five-year-old Jacob McLaughlin from Prescot is very close to his granddad, James Bowers, who he calls Gaga, and sees him almost every day.

However due to the coronavirus lockdown, Jacob is not able to see his Gaga and his mum Natalie decided to ask him to create a picture for grandad to keep to cheer him up.

However instead of a simple drawing, Evelyn Community Primary pupil Jacob decided to made a lifesize cut out of himself to send to his Gaga.

Jacob's mum Natalie, 33, said: "Jacob is a private little boy and doesn't talk to a lot of people but he loves his Gaga, so this coronavirus lockdown has been hard for them both.

"Especially since my dad recently lost his dad, so Jacob wanted to cheer him up.

"I said why don't you draw you hugging gaga and we'll send it to him, but he said 'I'll make another me so Gaga can hug that'

"My dad is made up with it and now keeps sending pictures of the cut out back to us to show Jacob what his cut out is up to Gaga.

"It's really helped Jacob and now everyday he is asking me, what is Gaga up to with the cut out today.."
