MESSAGES of support have been pouring in from figures across the political spectrum for Prime Minister Boris Johnson as he fights coronavirus in intensive care.

Mr Johnson, who visited the Hut Group warehouse at Omega ahead of the general election in December, was moved to intensive care in hospital after his symptoms worsened.

Many have been taking to Twitter to post their messages of support.

Warrington South Tory MP Andy Carter sent his best wishes to the PM.

He wished Mr Johnson a ‘speedy recovery’ and said his thoughts and prayers were with him.

Warrington North Labour MP Charlotte Nichols said: “Wishing the Prime Minister a speedy recovery and thinking of his pregnant partner Carrie for whom this must be an incredibly stressful time.”

Tory Richard Short, a former Warrington North parliamentary candidate, expressed his desire for the PM to get well soon.

He said: “I’ve just prayed for our Prime Minister.

“Faith in the power of prayer is a personal thing but personally I have great faith.”

Independent borough councillor Dan Price labelled the news of Mr Johnson being in intensive care as ‘dreadful’.

He said: “We all need to be pulling together through these difficult times – get well soon PM!”

Former Labour Warrington South MP Faisal Rashid also wished the PM a speedy recovery.

He added: “It’s sad news and hopefully he gets all the strength to fight with this virus.”
