DURING these unprecedented times, when most of us can work from the safety of our home, it is vital to recognise the hospital staff on the frontline of this pandemic.
Healthcare and ancillary staff return to the hospital every day to continue their jobs in order to help the town’s most vulnerable residents.
These guardians of the community are serving on the frontline under impossible pressure to save lives and we decided it was time to say ‘thank you’.
That is why the Warrington Guardian launched an appeal to fundraise for the staff and carers who are working so hard during this challenging time.
So far, generous residents have donated more than £2,500 which exceeds our target - but we are still fundraising.
Hayley Smith, editor of the Warrington Guardian, said: “Thank you to everyone who has donated to our campaign so far.
“We felt this was the best way of showing how much we care about the town’s NHS frontline
staff and are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported the appeal.”
Donations will be given directly to Warrington and Halton Hospitals’ Charity.
A staff health and wellbeing fund exists within the charity in addition to a fund for patients so every penny will be used to get staff and patients through this difficult time.
