THIS week's obituary page in the Warrington Guardian paid tribute to a primary school teacher who also took part in 68 plays at a well-known amateur dramatic group.

ANITA Rushman, wife of Andrew James Rushman, died of metastatic cancer, on February 25, aged 68.

Mrs Rushman was born in Altrincham and lived in Timperley and Lymm.

After graduating from Edge Hill College of Education in Ormskirk she got a job teaching the reception class at Ravenbank Primary School in Lymm, and she worked there for 39 years before retiring in 2011.

Mrs Rushman was a long-standing member of the local amateur dramatic society The Bridgewater Players and took part in 68 plays.

She was an accomplished actress and had the ability to remember large parts.

Mrs Rushman’s last role was the lead in Day of Reckoning and she had more than 600 lines and was word perfect.

She married her husband Andrew in August 1974, they shared a love of the theatre, holidays to faraway places and were both long standing season ticket holders of Manchester City.

She leaves her husband Andrew, and a brother.

A service was held at Walton Lea Crematorium on March 11.

Reverend Jenny Lewis officiated.

Arrangements were made by John Burrows & Sons of Lymm.
