WINSFORD dancers miss their weekly sessions so much they now share a virtual live class.

Fancy Feet Theatrical Dance usually runs classes for around 80 girls, boys and parents every Saturday morning.

The response to their first Facebook session was unbelievable as lots more families joined in the fun sessions.

Dance teacher Laura Wilkinson, from Winsford, said: "We had over 1,900 people watch our class. The response has been amazing.

"It is important for us not having contact with the children that we can keep our dancers engaged, active and connected.

"A lot of them get it on their tellies, iPads or phones. It's great that we have attracted a lot of people from the local community."

The group has flourished since it was formed three years ago and won Community Group of the Year at Winsford Town Council Oscars last year.

"We pride ourselves on being inclusive," said Laura, who has a daughter Isabella, seven, and son, Bobby, four. "We accept children of any ability and any background. If they can’t afford to pay we will still take them.

"We do a lot of fundraising for uniforms so that everyone can wear T-shirt or hoodie."

Laura taught PE at Winsford Academy for 10 years and now works at Hartford High School.

"I set up Fancy Feet as a community club not profit making to attract children from all the primary schools and the academy," said Laura, who runs the club with 12 volunteers including parents and former dance students.
