RESIDENTS at a Great Sankey care home have been left blooming after a donation of two lorry loads of plants.

Bents Garden and Home donated the items to Green Park Nursing Home in Great Sankey.

"The residents have been isolated from visitors, many confined to their rooms, and the staff are doing an amazing job of keeping everyone cheerful" said Sandra Currie, friend of the home.

"But this donation of two lorry loads of flowering and foliage plants, has raised spirits for everyone, giving staff and residents a much appreciated boost at this difficult time."

Mellisa Thompson, home manager, added: "We are blown away at the level of kindness that has been shown, this is a very uncertain time for everybody and your donations have brought so much happiness to the staff and residents of Green Park, we are forever grateful”

Joe Ward, activities manager, added: "The joy this has brought to residents and staff is amazing. We can't thank Bents enough".

Matthew Bent, MD of Bent's, said: “We were delighted to be able to donate our houseplants to Green Park and hope they will bring a little bit of brightness into the home.

"Not being able to see relatives must be so hard on both the residents of the home and their families, but the carers are doing a fantastic job.

"We wanted to do anything we could to help them as they continue to show such amazing care and compassion during what is a very difficult time.”
