MEET newborn Albie Patrick Sheldon - who made a 'surprise and dramatic entrance' into the world this week.

Mum Andrea had been worried with all the concerns of having a baby in hospital during the unprecedented pandemic.

Albie was born very quickly on the landing of his home in Upton on Thursday.

Andrea's husband Peter rang 999 as Andrea was saying she was going to push, he was being given instructions on how to deliver the baby over the phone and could see that the head was crowning.

Grandmother Mary Simmons told the Globe: "Luckily the fantastic paramedics arrived just in time to bring Albie into the world safely and soundly.

"The paramedics were fantastic and said it was a lovely change to be able to bring new life into the world, especially with everything that is going on at the moment.

"They are facing all sorts on the front line and this was something positive for all involved.

"Andrea wants to reassure all women who are pregnant and that are worried in the given circumstances that the staff at arrowe park were fantastic, professional, caring and patient and were reassuring at all times.

"The process of going in and being seen to was relaxed yet cautious and safe.

"She couldn't thank all the staff and the three paramedics enough and has thanked them personally via Facebook.

"In all this time of worry and negativity there are still positives and people need to try and focus on the good."
