A MAN who lied about his criminal convictions in order to gain a firearms licence has been fined hundreds of pounds.
Michael Rowe, from Latchford, made applications for certificates to keep guns under the Firearms Act 1968 in 2016 and 2017.
But he incorrectly claimed that he did not have any previous convictions or aliases.
Rowe, who is also known as Michael Wheldon, was convicted of three counts of making a false statement in his absence at Warrington Magistrates Court on Friday, March 20.
The 49-year-old, of Bolton Avenue, was fined £440 and told to pay court costs of £85 plus a £30 victim surcharge.
