FIREWORKS went off and tears were shed as Warrington residents opened their windows and doors to clap for our carers.
The social media campaign was launched last week urging people to show their appreciation for our NHS frontline heroes.
And thousands of people across the town answered the call.
Families opened their windows and doors to clap while other homes set off fireworks to mark the occasion.

Well done Warrington π #clapforourcarers pic.twitter.com/7Gkk9OezJy
Our part of #GreatSankey came out on the street. Last time was probably 1977 for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Different kind of celebration tonight but great to see community recognition of not only our #NHS but also those involved in Social Care tooπͺππ
