AS school are now closed for a majority of pupils, we would love to celebrate the town's teachers and share the special moments from pupils' last day.

Grappenhall Heys Primary pupils decided to spread some cheer before their school closed its doors for the foreseeable.

Head teacher, Kelly Jackson, encouraged teachers to allow extended playtimes, fun with art, sports and giving children time to play with their friends.

One teacher at the Appleton Thorn school said: "Our children went home happy despite everything that’s going on and that’s how we wanted it.

"The teachers kept strong for the kids, even though all the staff felt emotional saying goodbye to their classes at the end of the day.

"The kids had the best day playing and laughing with their friends!"
