TRIBUTES have been paid to a former Warrington Wolves and Widnes Vikings sports physiotherapist.

The popular man from Orford appeared in the obituaries column of last week's Warrington Guardian after he passed away aged 60.

David William Wormald, who died on February 10, worked as a sports injury physiotherapist and was formerly employed by Warrington Wolves and Widnes Vikings with clients from Warrington Wolves, Widnes Vikings, Bank Quay Bulls and other amateur clubs in the town whom he formed lasting friendships with.

He previously played in the Phoenix Band and worked for a cancer charity based in Widnes.

His family added he was very popular and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves three brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service was held at St Elphin’s Church followed by a final remembrance at Walton Lea Crematorium on March 12.

Donations went to the British Heart Foundation.
