HOMES are set to be built on the site of a former school in Birchwood.
Foxwood School, on Chatfield Drive, closed in 2017.
Now plans have been submitted to build 69 homes on the land.
The homes would be for rent, a large number for affordable rent.
There will be 13 two-bedroom houses; 19, three-bedroom houses; eight, one-bedroom apartments; 29, two-bedroom apartments.
Access to the site will be from a single junction with Chatfield Drive, in approximately the same place as the existing vehicular access for the former school.
Parking will be on street or in courtyard space.
The land has been a problem area for travellers in recent times.
A report on highways said: "In conclusion, it has been shown that the development can be accessed in a safe manner and the impacts of the scheme on the local network is considered to be negligible. It is therefore concluded that there are no material highways or traffic reasons why planning permission shall not be granted."
