THE Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation has announced the commemoration of the 27th anniversary of the Warrington bombing will not take place this Friday due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The charity, which is based at the Peace Centre, was set up after the deaths of 12-year-old Tim Parry and three-year-old Johnathan Ball following the IRA bombing in the town centre in March 1993.
The commemoration events at Bridge Street and the Peace Centre have been cancelled in line with Government public health guidelines.
People wishing to pay their respects are asked to make private arrangements for reflection and observe social distancing and self-isolation advice.

Nick Taylor, chief executive of the Peace Foundation, said: “These are extraordinary times.
“The decision to cancel the event is not taken lightly and in no way diminishes the significance of this date and I hope you share with us in thinking of Colin, Wendy and the Parry family, Johnathan’s family, Bronwen’s family and all others affected by this and all other acts of terrorism.”
If you, or someone you know, have been affected by the Warrington attack, the Peace Foundation’s team is available to offer practical and emotional support.
They can be contacted on 581240 or by e-mailing SAN@peace-foundation.org.uk.
