IT was an unhappy return to action for full back Lachlan Coote at Castleford with Saints getting beaten hands down in a 28-14 defeat.

Coote has missed the last five matches since injuring his knee in round one and slotted back into a side that was at full strength apart from Mark Percival and James Bentley.

But he could do nothing to stop Saints from falling to back-to-back defeats.

Coote said: "It was very disappointing. Castleford made a good start and we did not match their energy at the start of the game and let them get too far away.

"It was too hard to come back then.

"It's not hard to fix - it is about energy.

"The more we start absorbing teams' pressure and bounce back, we will be right.

"But teams are really getting on top of us at the moment and we are allowing them to do that."
