A HOMEGROWN children’s clothing brand is making a mark on the fashion world and becoming a ‘go to’ label for stylish social media stars.

House of Juniors is the brainchild of Natasha Formoy, from Heckmondwike, and Kamila Ogrodnik and Chantelle Etienne, from Bradford.

Their venture only began in 2018, but already has the stamp of approval from a number of mini trendsetters, including the daughters of American rapper Sean Combs (P Diddy), his nephew Baby Prince, rising star twins Anais and Mirabelle Lee and other young influencers with a major presence on social media sites like Instagram.

House of Juniors has appeared at London and New York Fashion Week, has been selected for fashion shoots with major brands including Burberry and Moschino and has also been approached by major sports brand Puma to do a collaboration in New York.

At the brand’s heart is the ethos of collaborating with children, with bold designs inspired by artwork created in school projects.

For the Autumn/Winter 2019 collection, the brand organised children’s workshops and weaved their artwork into the final designs.

The aim is to become a pioneer in children’s clothing, giving youngsters a chance to explore their own creativity and play a key role in the design process.

Natasha, 31, who worked in the childcare sector before embarking on her journey in the fashion world, said: “I’m really proud of the brand and how it’s developed - and I’m really proud of the kids.

“Some of the kids we’ve worked with have ended up coming back and getting casted for other stuff.”

She described the brand’s rise to success as “overwhelming and amazing”.

“A lot of people will say ‘can you believe it?’,” said Natasha.

“Hopefully it will continue to grow.”

The clothing, which includes stylish faux fur coats lined with intricately detailed fabric and eye-catching dresses splashed with printed designs which include famous landmarks like Paris’s Eiffel Tower, caters for younger children and teenagers with a desire to show their flare for fashion.

“It’s affordable luxury clothing,” Natasha said.

“It’s not fast fashion - the pieces are beautiful.

“The clothes are really unique and they just stand out.”

The brand started with a vision and has gone from strength to strength since then.

A goal for the future is to take part in the Playtime Paris trade show, in the hope of House of Juniors getting into department stores one day.
