POLICE say the death of a woman whose body was found this week is not being treated as suspicious following a post-mortem.

Two people who were initally arrested in connection with her death have been released and will face no further action, detectives have added.

Emergency services were called to a house on Stainton Close, Carr Mill just after 4am on Wednesday, February 26, where the 51-year-old woman's death was confirmed.

The 40-year-old woman and 50-year-old man were both questioned yesterday while the death was classed as "unexplained", however, Merseyside Police has ruled out foul play.

A police spokeswoman said: "Following further enquiries and a Home Office Post Mortem the death has been deemed non-suspicious.

"A 40-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man who were arrested on suspicion of murder have now been released with no further action."
