IMAGINATIVE children’s play ‘Ogg ‘n’ Ugg and the World’s First Dogg’ is set to show at Northwich’s Lion Salt Works Museum in March.

Starting at 11am on Saturday, March 14, the award-winning museum show the enchanting children’s play, telling the story of a time before dogs when wolves roamed the land and did not like humans.

This is until Yorkshire hunter-gatherers Ugg ‘n’ Ogg became friends with wolves and ‘invented’ man’s best friend – the dog.

This fun show produced by Theatre Fideri Fidera features flying meat bones, sabre-toothed tigers, time-travelling sticks, rapping wolves and forest infernos.

Inspired by the amazing evolutionary process where over thousands of years hunter-gatherers transformed the wolf into a perfect pet through domestication and selection, this action-packed fun play contains lots of hilarious twists and turns before man can finally pat their dog.

The play runs for an hour without an interval and includes a ten minute ‘meet the performers' and puppets session.

Cllr Louise Gittins, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “This engaging and energetic play is a wonderful mix of song, puppetry and fun and will delight children and adults alike.

"I hope as many people as possible make it along to the historic Thompson Suite for this performance.”

Part of the Cheshire Rural Touring Arts Spring season, tickets to this performance cost £6.50 per adult and £4.50 for under-16-year-olds. Family tickets are also available from £15.40.

The play is aimed at children over three years old, but is fun for any age group.
